Deija McCalla, MHC-LP

Deija is a Brooklyn-based Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about providing culturally competent and inclusive mental health care to people with diverse backgrounds and intersectionalities. She understands that it can be a struggle to find someone who understands you for who you are, as well as the impact of your complex experiences and is dedicated to fostering a safe space to feel understood, foster personal growth and to improve overall self-confidence and self-esteem.

Deija works with people ranging from adolescents to older adults and specializes in treating Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and PTSD. She has worked with people on a wide range of concerns, including, grief, abuse, familial conflict, life transitions, racial identity, women’s issues, ADHD, and autism. She utilizes a person-centered approach and integrates psychodynamic, cognitive, and somatic theory and techniques to target and heal acute and chronic symptoms. When working together, she will focus on getting to the root of your struggles and cultivating tailored and realistic goals that are geared towards improving your overall quality of life.
